What’s the difference between piezo and magnetic?
A piezo buzzer generates sound because of the piezoelectric effect
from the piezoelectric ceramic which drives the metallic diaphragm
A magnetic buzzer is based on the electromagnetic principle, the
metal diaphragm is pulled when input the power, and spring back
Advantages and disadvantages of piezo?
Advantages:They generate a voltage proportional to the velocity the
crystal is deformed so require no local power source.
Disadvantages: They are high impedence and can pick up stray
voltages in the connecting wires. The crystal is also prone to
cracking if overstressed.
